CUSTOM CHARTERS FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS AND FILM MAKERS
Our ships have been used as a home and platform to amateur and professional photographers and film-makers. Many have joined us on BC's central and north coasts, in the Great Bear Rainforest, to photograph and film Spirit Bears, Grizzly Bears, Wolves and Whales. International film producers have travelled with us, such as "Ushuaia Nature" for "L'Esprit de la Foret", (viewed by 8 million people in Europe). Even Hollywood producers have used our ship for a movie starring Kurt Russell and Courtney Cox!
Most recently, in August of 2008, the British film crew from Image Impact, led by the renowned adventurer, filmmaker and naturalist Nigel Marven, traveled with us for 9 days. While filming, the group was led by fully certified, professional bear guides, Eric Boyum and Doug Neasloss.
Some photographers join scheduled trips, but for those that have a strong focus and a certain time line, a private custom trip offers them a trip geared just to their interests and agenda.
We SPECIALIZE in Small Group Charters, of 2 to 6 guests on wildlife viewing departures. With fewer guests on board and an itinerary based on wildlife sightings and your interests, a Custom (Private) Trip could be best for getting the shots you want.
Our professional, fully certified bear guide can help ensure unparalleled wildlife viewing while maintaining the safety of our small groups. Our photographers and filmmakers are NEVER just part of a crowd!

We specialize in small group charters, (maximum of 8 guests on day trips and 6 guests on overnight cruises). Small groups ensure more privacy and personalized service for our guests, and, less impact on the environment and the animals we visit.

Spring on the north coast is the perfect time for landscape artists... the blue skies of June highlighting mountain peaks still draped in snow... waterfalls cascading over thousands of feet of polished granite... lush green estuaries carpeted in wildflowers.
If you've enjoyed Haida art or the paintings of Emily Carr, you'll want to join us in Haida Gwaii, the Queen Charlotte Islands...sitting and sketching beneath the old Haida poles is a powerful experience.
Artists have traveled with us to the mainland inlets of the Great Bear Rainforest to sketch and paint these soul stirring, ancient forests and unique wildlife that live there. Each season in the Great Bear Rainforest provides amazing colour and natural events, providing artists with endless possibilities!
With our smallest group sizes our guests enjoy a more intimate experience wherever we travel... as they discover landscapes of immeasurable beauty... lush green estuaries carpeted in wildflowers... bears enjoying sedges or salmon... in front of mortuary poles in Sgang Gwaay... whales as they breach or bubblenet... an osprey in flight... or visiting with our friends and teachers in First Nations villages along the coast.
With our small group sizes we make less impact on the lands we visit, the wildlife we view and the First Nations peoples who inspire us... something that is extremely important to us.

Join us on BC's central coast for a visit to one of the west coast's most pristine, remote and romantic beaches. Walk pure white sandy beaches, edged in turquoise water. Walk trails through ancient stands of cedar and hemlock. Watch humpback whales, as they seem to perform — tail lobbing, flipper slapping and full breaches — sure to take your breath away.
Back on board the ship, enjoy the privacy of your own suite — a private stateroom with Queen size bed, with the adjoining stateroom as your dressing room and your own private bathroom. Fresh flowers and chocolates await you.
