Private Charter Cruises & Boat Trips
from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Custom, Private Boat Charters, and Adventure Cruises aboard the 54-ft motor yacht Great Bear II

Private or Group Boat Charters-Ocean adventures on B.C.'s West Coast.

Our ships have been used as a home and platform to amateur and professional photographers and film-makers. Many have joined us on B.C.'s central and north coasts, in the Great Bear Rainforest, to photograph and film Spirit Bears, Grizzly Bears, Wolves and Whales.

International film producers have travelled with us, such as "Ushuaia Nature" for "L'Esprit de la Foret", (viewed by 8 million people in Europe). Even Hollywood producers have used our ship for a movie starring Kurt Russell and Courtney Cox!

The British film crew from Image Impact, led by the renowned adventurer, filmmaker and naturalist Nigel Marven, traveled with us for 9 days. While filming, the group was led by fully certified, professional bear guides, Eric Boyum and Doug Neasloss.

Grizzly cub Some photographers join scheduled trips, but for those that have a strong focus and a certain time line, a private custom trip offers them a trip geared just to their interests and agenda.

We SPECIALIZE in Small Group Charters, of 2-5 guests on scheduled trips. With fewer guests onboard and an itinerary based on wildlife sightings and your interests, a Custom/Private Charter Cruise could be best for getting the shots you want.

Our professional, fully certified bear guides ensure unparalleled wildlife viewing while maintaining the safety of our small groups.

More recently, several well-known photographers from Europe, the USA, and Canada are bringing their own private photo tours to travel with us. If you would like more information on these special photo tours and how you can join one of their trips, please contact us.

Imagine that you and your family or friends are boarding our 54 foot ship, Great Bear II, for a private charter cruise on British Columbia's spectacular West Coast. The possibilities are endless!

Our Chef would be happy to discuss your food and beverage requirements when you charter a private boat tour.

In May and June and then again in August, September and early October, join us on the central coast of B.C. in the Great Bear Rainforest for unparalleled wildlife viewing, whale watching and to learn about the unique cultures of the Coastal First Nations People.

Transient Orca calf breaching In July join us in Haida Gwaii in Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site.

These are multi day trips with guests staying onboard the ship over a number of days. Please contact us with dates and places you are most interested in. Between November and April, we do not offer scheduled tours, but we are happy to talk to you about a Private multi day cruise along the south coast of B.C. Join us to explore areas such as the Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound and Princess Louisa Inlet, to name a few.

If you are looking for Whale Watching on the South Coast, we recommend that you contact Prince of Whales Whale Watching or Stubbs Whale Watching.

Call or email us with dates you have in mind and ideas for where and what you'd like to experience and we'll help you plan the private custom cruise of a lifetime for you, your family or friends!

We specialize in small group charters with a maximum of 8 guests on day trips and a maximum of 5 guests on scheduled overnight cruises. On Private (Custom) charters, in certain circumstances, we may be able to accommodate 5 on overnight cruises. Small groups ensure more privacy and personalized service for our guests, and, less impact on the environment and the wildlife we visit, something that is extremely important to us.

Waterfalls and WildflowersFOR ARTISTS

The polished granite walls of Fiordland are laced with waterfalls that seem to fall from the sky.

There is nothing like the sight of baby Mergansers riding on the back of their mother, or trying to photograph the elusive, red-listed Marbled Murrelet as they dive for their dinner., or the beautiful plumage and haunting calls of Common Loons.

Whether listening to the symphony of songbirds as we float down lazy rivers or hearing the beat of Bald Eagles' wings as they take off from their perch above us, or the shrill cry of a Belted Kingfisher as he scolds us from his perch, you will come to understand why spring in the Great Bear Rainforest is the best time for bird watching and photography enthusiasts to join us.

Appetizers set out on a locally crafted maple platter Freshly caught and cooked crab for dinner Although we have had private charters with as few as 1 guest for a special photo assignment or couples celebrating their special anniversary, our custom, private charters most often consist of 4 - 5 guests.

We believe that our smaller group sizes allow our guests to really discover the heartbeat of this unique and soul-stirring wilderness and witness the natural behaviors of the wildlife we see, all of which are extremely important to us.

Planning a Custom, Private Charter means your days can be filled with activity and/or time to relax and savour some of the most powerful land and seascapes on earth.

At the end of each day as you return to the warmth and comfort of the ship, your Chef is waiting for you with appetizers and wine or beer before a dinner of freshly caught cooked crab is served.

At night as you fall asleep beneath your cozy duvet in the comfort of your stateroom, with the soothing sounds of a nearby waterfall or, a distant wolf singing a soulful lullaby, you will remember your day and understand why our guests keep coming back.

Nothing quite like falling asleep to the sound of a waterfall

"We came with a dream---we leave with more conscience. We have understood the message of the Spirit Bear. Thanks to you to be so close to Nature." ~ Michele, videographer, "Ushuaia", Paris, France

"The trip, as last year, was a highlight of the Fowler year. Your knowledge and passion is truly inspirational to all of us. As wonderful as the trips are, the friendships with you are the most memorable and special aspects of these coastal experiences!" ~ The Fowler Family, Calgary, Alberta
